Upcoming Events in Atlantic City, New Jersey
The weather outside might still be frightful, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad time to take a trip. In fact, what better time to get out of your snow shelter and change things up a little? Best of all, you don’t need to travel far to find some fun. Atlantic City is one of closest hot spots around, and you’d better believe that there’s tons of interesting activities going on there – yes, even now. Here are some upcoming Atlantic City events that are worth checking out.
Bay Atlantic Symphony Orchestra
Winter got you down? On January 22, the Bay Atlantic Symphony Orchestra will be looking forward to the warmer months with their performance of spring-appropriate pieces by Aaron Copland and Antonio Vivaldi. The concert will feature Copland’s “Appalachian Spring,” an eight section ballet, and Vivaldi’s violin concerti, “The Four Seasons,” featuring Jorge Avila on lead violin. The concert will take place a little outside Atlantic City, in Stockton University’s Performing Arts Center.
Atlantic City Auction & Car Show
There’s art in a well-composed orchestral piece, but many would argue that there’s art to be found in a well-designed, classic automobile, too! The Atlantic City Auction & Car Show will take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center from February 10 to 12, with more than 400 cars slated for sale. NASCAR driver Joey Logano–with his car– is also scheduled to be in attendance, signing autographs throughout the weekend. If you’re a car geek, this is a must-visit! That’s even if you don’t walk away with your own muscle car.
Atlantic City RV & Camping Show
The beauty of owning a motor home is that no matter where you choose to travel, you’re always home, and you’re never limited by the weather. No matter if you have a passing interest in RVs or you dream of having your own someday, the Atlantic City RV & Camping Show, held at the Atlantic City Convention Center from February 17 through 19, is a prime opportunity to check these big rigs out. If motor homes don’t strike your interest, other camping gear will be on display, along with information about camping and travelling in general.
The Harlem Globetrotters
The Harlem Globetrotters have been an American institution for 90 years. But of course, you don’t want to see them for their cultural relevance – you want to see some sweet dunks! And that’s what you’ll get when you visit the Globetrotters at Boardwalk Hall on March 8. You probably know what to expect before even arriving: comedic skits, feats of acrobatics, and a just-plain-fun of basketball. Even if you aren’t a fan of sports, this show is worth watching.
Brain Candy Live!
What do you get when bring together Mythbuster Adam Savage and Michael “Vsauce” Stevens? A night of curiosity, experiments, and maybe an explosion or two. The duo are both known separately for their inquisitive, down-to-earth takes on some of life’s biggest questions, so it will be a real treat to see what they’ve cooked up together. “Brain Candy Live!”, which is being billed as a family-friendly show, will go on at Caesars Atlantic City on March 10.
